Terms of service

Effective .

About these terms

These terms are between you and Paper Plane Post, Inc. They cover Paper Plane Post and the postcards you order. By placing an order, you agree to these terms. You must have legal capacity to enter this agreement and authority to place the order if you act for someone else.

Making a postcard

Paper Plane Post turns a photo into a printed, mailed postcard. Use your photo or choose an illustrated version, write a note, and add the recipient’s address. You don’t need an account.

An assistant such as ChatGPT can start an unpaid postcard with an image and any note or address you supply. Starting a postcard doesn’t authorize payment or mailing. You review the card and complete payment on our website.

Before paying, check the crop, artwork, note, recipient’s name, and complete address. AI-generated artwork can change details or contain mistakes, and printed colors can differ from your screen. You are responsible for the version and information you choose to send.

Prices and payment

The website and checkout show the price in US dollars, including postage to a supported destination. Each checkout is a separate purchase; there is no subscription. You authorize the payment shown at checkout through Stripe. A later price change doesn’t change the price of an order you’ve already paid for.

Printing and delivery

After payment, your order enters the printing process. Our fulfillment partner receives the chosen front, the back with your note, and the recipient’s name and address to print and mail the card from the United States. The website gives estimated preparation and delivery times. Postal delays and service disruptions can affect arrival. International mail doesn’t have reliable tracking after it leaves the US.

A postcard travels without an envelope, so its image, note, and address are visible in the mail. Don’t use it to send confidential information.

Changes and order problems

The website doesn’t offer edits or cancellations after checkout because orders enter printing immediately. Personalized postcards cannot be returned.

If fulfillment fails, your card arrives damaged or materially misprinted, or nondelivery is confirmed, contact [email protected] with your order reference and a description of the problem. We’ll offer a free remake or a refund. Don’t send payment card details.

If you entered an incorrect address, we don’t provide a free remake or refund for that error. Contact support and we’ll give you a coupon for 50% off your next postcard purchase.

Nothing in these terms limits consumer rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your photos, notes, and addresses

You retain any rights you hold in the material you supply. You give us permission to process it as needed to create previews and illustrations, check content safety, store the postcard, take payment, and arrange printing and mailing through our service providers. This permission doesn’t give us general rights to advertise using your content. A separate opt-in to feature illustrated artwork covers that artwork, not your note or the recipient’s address.

You must have the rights and permissions needed to submit, transform, print, and send your material, including any necessary permission to use another person’s image or mailing information. Don’t submit unlawful material, infringe another person’s rights, send threats or harassment, or misuse the service to harm others. Automated safety checks can reject content and don’t replace your responsibility for what you send.

Privacy and links

Our privacy page explains how we handle images, notes, addresses, browser information, payments, and service providers. Images, notes, and recipient names undergo automated safety checks through OpenAI. The website maker also sends your photo to OpenAI for illustration generation, even if you later choose to mail the original photo. For an assistant-provided image marked as already AI-generated, illustration generation waits until you select Illustrated.

Anyone with an image link can view that image. Anyone with your confirmation link can open order details, including the note and address. Keep those links private. The privacy page describes storage and deletion.

Service access

We may reject content or restrict use that violates these terms, creates a security risk, or disrupts the service. This doesn’t remove our obligations for a paid order or your applicable consumer rights. Third-party assistants and payment services have their own terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for future orders by posting a revised version with its effective date. An update doesn’t change the terms of an order you’ve already placed.
